Victoria Oil and Gas (VOG)

After the recent financial report for Victoria Oil and Gas  I took the decision to buy more shares as it seemed to me that it was a no brainer, that if VOG were buying 20 more gas units for customers then it was bound to be a good buy. Since then the sp has dropped and I can't understand why so today I rang VOG and asked if I could speak to Kevin Foo. To my surprise I had a 10 minute conversation with him, in which, he was very frank when I asked why the sp was where it was. Obviously, I didn't ask price sensitive information but he did give me a clear warts and all explanation of why he saw the sp where it was and what was needed for the sp to rise. I found it refreshing that he took the time to speak to me and explained why he thought the sp was where it was. At the end of the conversation I felt that I had made the right decision in buying more shares. As he is the largest individual shareholder, he is as keen as anyone that the sp goes up and reflect all that VOG have achieved in the last 3 and a half years. I see it as a matter of time now before the sp starts to rise. I have an average of just under 4p so I hope it goes above that before I pop my clogs!!

End of the line!!!

I have had a flurry of RNS and as a result I have sold my BMR shares! It is all a matter of confidence and I have zero confidence in Masoud Alikhani, especially after yesterday's RNS where he extended the warrants for the second time for another 6 months!!! So I sold up and put my money into VOG!
Some may question my decision but in VOG, I see a company who have worked hard to produce a business in Cameroon that will benefit the local economy and hopefully the shareholders. VOG issued their final results yesterday, which were not great but I live in hopes that this time next year things will be completely different. The sp fell on the results but I am looking to see the sp rise in the coming months.
Today, PINN issued a very positive RNS on its high speed internet trials in Cheltenham and this is another step in developing the company so well done PINN!

Berkeley Mineral Resources PLC

Berkeley Mineral Resources PLC issued an RNS today regarding copper production at the Bwana Mkubwa mine, Ndola. The intention is to produce 150 tonnes of copper a month! Will it happen? Who can say but going on the track record so far, I would have my doubts.
I have changed my trading account in France to make it more tax efficient so I am waiting for that to get sorted before I can continue with my shares in Paris. Despite all the problems with the Euro, I seem to be doing better on the Paris stock exchange than in London. I hope that soon changes though!

A flurry of RNS!!

In the last few days I have had a number of RNS about my shares! The first was from BMR and it was just a change of registered office! We will get another RNS from BMR next week as I think that it is highly unlikely that the warrants are exercised!
Then we had some from Red Rock, RRR about Greenland and the iron ore prospecting there, nothing to exciting!
Then we had one from ORE about an issue of shares! Normally this would be viewed as bad news but this time they had raised £1.2M and it was all director buys!!!!!!!! My take on that is that they are very confident that they are going to make a lot of money in the future!
Then we had another from RRR saying that they had sold some shares in Jupiter Mining to fund the RRR business! Better than a dilution but I am unclear as to where this takes RRR!
All of the RNS have had very little impact on the sp for any of the shares so it is still back to waiting!

A Long Time doing nothing!!!

It has been another week and not a lot has happened to my shares, even my Natixis are stuck!! Tristar Resources are starting to make a move northwards but generally everything is staying the same! There are very few RNS and this time of the year is generally when things start to kick off with results and positive outlooks! To relieve the boredom I have even been doing some forex trading on the EUR/USD and even that is just trading in a range! It is as if the financial world is waiting for something to happen! Perhaps that something is the Spanish govt asking for a bailout! Time to be patient and wait until something happens!

Reflections on trading

I have been trading now for 2 years and whilst I have had some success, I have also made a lot of mistakes. I read on a BB the other day someone was advising another poster that the minimum you should buy shares for is £1000 and I agree as otherwise you struggle to make a profit after dealing costs and stamp duty.
Take very little notice of what people post on BBs! At the start I had 2 shares GKN and VOG and I was quite happy with that until someone suggested that I should have more or it would look like I was a gambler! So I set about buying shares in every sector! I have learned that it is a mistake!
For some people share trading is an investment, they buy shares at the bottom, hold for maybe a long time and get a multi bagger, perhaps. For me, I have learnt that I prefer to buy and sell quickly. I would rather make £20-£50 a day rather than wait 2 years in the hope I may double my money. Like I say, it is my style but not for everyone. Now so long as I make more than the combined cost of dealing and stamp duty as clear profit I am happy.
I have also found that for me, it is better to trade shares that have high volume each day and good volatility. If a share can move 4% in a day then I can achieve my objectives. There is nothing I like better than buying some shares, selling them the same day or the next day and then buying them back at a lower price the day after. I can see the number of shares increase along with my capital invested and if I am making more than bank interest then I get a kick out of beating the bank!
Having learnt some hard lessons, this is the way I will be continuing for now. Like I say, it is not for everyone but it does suit me.

Red Rock Resources

Red Rock Resources issued an RNS today regarding the sale of its Columbian gold mine. This could be worth in excess of $2M to the company based on the original loan agreement but we will have to wait and see. It will be interesting to see how it affects the sp!
The RNS yesterday from VOG did little for the sp! It went up a bit but then settled back to where it closed! One of these days it will go up and stay up! The problem is that many staff were paid in shares and it may be that some are turning their shares into liquidity so until they have finished selling the sp will continue to languish!

Victoria Oil and Gas (VOG)

Last week was very boring really, most of my pf did nothing or went down but today Victoria Oil and Gas (VOG) issued a good RNS!!! They have a Competent Person's Report that confirms that they have 50% more reserves of gas at Logbaba! Hoorah! This was carried out to provide a credit facility with a top tier finance house. This should effectively remove the chunterings bout dilution for a while and may move the sp northwards!
Berkeley Mineral Resources PLC are still just above 3p and it wouldn't surprise me to see the sp fall into the 2p's before the AGM. There is very little volume and no news so there is nothing to drive the sp north!
