Porta Communications PTCM

Porta Communications PTCM are my second biggest holding after VOG, and I have already made a profit on them but recently the sp has been sliding down. Today they issued an RNS saying that David Newton no longer had a notifiable interest in the company. In other words he has less than 3% of the company's share. He did hold 336M shares so if he has sold them plus all the selling that XCAP have been doing, then no wonder the sp has been falling. I hope that the sp will now start to rise and that we get some good news about acquisitions soon!
Asia Digital Holdings ADH on the other hand are moving upwards nicely. I put my limit sell  in for 0.89p today and so far the sp has only got to 0.85p, so close but not quite there. I will move the limit sell up to 0.94p tomorrow. Everyone is getting excited that we will soon be through 1p and onwards to 2p!!! I am not so sure and am happy to make a profit and move on. Time will tell.

Asia Digital Holdings PLC (ADH)

Surge on the sp today,  from a close on Friday of 0.68p, the sp went as high as 0.79p before closing at 0.74p. I put a limit order in for 0.84p but it wasn't triggered. The results are out on the 5th April and it is likely that the sp will rise before that date. Some on the forums were saying that the sp could go to 4p!! I take that with a pinch of salt but you never know. I am going to put a limit order in each day and each day raise it by 0.05p each day. So tomorrow I will place a limit order for 0.89p and see whether it gets triggered!

Iofina (IOF) Iodine producers

Things started quite well this morning and the sp went to 24.5p then I noticed a slight reversal so I sold at 23.35p. Total profit £44 but not bad for 1 day and better than in the bank. Obviously it may move north later but again no such thing as a bad profit! I now have a limit buy for today on Tristar Resources TSTR for 0.99p. Whether I get it remains to be seen as the sp is above 1p but nothing ventured nothing gained!

The markets seem to have recovered a lttle today, nothing fantastic but not as much red about today.I am still waiting for news on a few shares but must remain patient.

I think that I did the right thing in selling IOF this morning as it has now dropped to 21.5p!

Learning how to trade!

Yesterday morning I went out and all my shares were quiet. When I came back a litlle later EDL had gone bonkers and had gone from 0.85p to 1.2p. I thought that this was good as I was well in profit and hoped that it would continue. At the end of the day EDL was the most traded share, with over 180M shares traded. The final closing price was 1.03p. Ok I was in profit but it occurred to me that what I should have done was to sell at 1.2p and buy back at 1.03p thereby increasing my holding as I have no spare cash at the moment. Of course if I had sold and it continued to go up I might have looked silly but I would have made a profit. With this in mind, I thought that the sp might move again today so I made a limit sell order for 1.35p. That would give me 33% profit and I might be able to buy back on a retrace. Well the sp got to 1.2 but not the 1.35p I wanted and there was virtually no retrace! The sell order was only for 1 day so tomorrow I am going to make another order for 1.4p. I think that I will keep increasing it until it sells and then to try to buy back in on a retrace. If it doesn't sell, its not a problem. If it does then I make more money. I'll try it and watch the results.
Greencore issued an RNS today saying that they had bought a sandwich business in the US so they seem keen on expanding. I hope it is reflected in the sp!
